Description Supporting Rationale Potential Alternative Funding Sources Prioritization Criteria
1 CalWORKs Equipment $0.00 $2,000.00
Independent Internet Access Adequate independent internet access is not available at either of the centers in which we operate. We are not able to operate at a higher education level in which we are expected to be. We cannot use our tools and resources because wi-fi is not available at the county buildings where our centers are located. The challenge may be how the county interfaces with the college. We cannot offer a college-level experience with inadequate resources.

Full-time JSW Instructor In order to expand the JSW Program beyond the County, an additional institutionalized JSW Instructor is required. We expect an extended, ongoing need from those directly and indirectly affected by the Camp Fire on our resources. Once shelters close, FEMA leaves and emergency housing is no longer available, we predict an increase in enrollment. Since the County elevated the General Assistance rate by approximately 40%, there has been a significant increase in applications.

Additional F/T Instructional Career Specialist In order to provide adequate support to full-time faculty and expand JSW services, a full-time 12 month Instructional Career Specialist is needed at each center (one at the CEC and one at the OEC). Currently the Instructional Career Specialist splits their time between centers. The recent Camp Fire disaster will only impact the needs of the students further.
