Student Success Services

Mission Statement

The mission of Student Success Services is to assist students on academic and/or financial aid probation overcome academic challenges, improve course completion rates, term to term persistence and attainment of educational goals, be that an associate's degree, certificate or transfer to another college.

Program Description

Student Success Services provides one-to-one assistance and referral to intervention support services for students on academic probation and/or financial aid warning, and/disqualification. This service is designed to help students in identifying and utilizing available resources to be successful in their current and future terms. Student Success Services provides resource referral services for homeless students and priority registration under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistant Act. Student Success Services administers the Early Alert program which provides priority services to students in crisis.

Strategy 1 - Basic Needs Intervention Program

Create a basic needs intervention program to address issues to stable food, housing, and academic resources for students. This partnership between the Office of Student Success Services and the Associated Students will work to meet the basic needs of students who are facing food, housing, and overall financial insecurtiy in order to increas student retention and success.

Butte College students struggle with meeting their basic needs including finding and navigating resources (on campus and in the community) available to them. to assist them, there is a need for a central location where students can access services and information easily. by developing the model of a central location for access to basic need services, students will be able to discuss and secure theri basic needs without having to several locations on campus to access services. *Information will also be replicated on-line(and hosted on Canvas or on the college's website) and a smaller information center will be replicated in  the AS run Student Lounge at the Chico Center.

Create a basic needs intervention program to address issues of access to stable food, housing, and academic support for students. Working closely with Associated Students to meet the basic needs of students who are facing food and housing insecurity and increase student retention.
