Augmentation Requests

Original Priority Program, Unit, Area Resource Type Account Number Object Code One Time Augment Ongoing Augment
Description Supporting Rationale Potential Alternative Funding Sources Prioritization Criteria
1 Dean of Student Services Personnel $0.00 $80,000.00
Administrative Support for Student Equity The Dean of Student Services Office currently oversees $2.4 million in SSSP, $1.5 million in Student Equity, $200,000 in Enrollment Management/IEPI, and $80,000 in Noncredit SSSP. The scope of the programs and program funding is significant. The office is currently operating with one F/T support staff (Administrative Assistant to the Dean). Additional support staff are absolutely critical for adequate impleementation of program activities, support to departments, and in order to complete tasks on a timely manner. Important tasks like preparing agendas, posting meeting minutes, processing budget transfers and requisitions, completing FUR's, tracking and completing TR's, catalog proofs, and responding to surveys are going undone or being delayed based on current staffing levels. In order for the Dean and the Director of Student Equity to adequately fulfill thier roles additonal support staff is critical. We propose that 25% of the Dean's salary and benefits and 50% of the Administrative Assistant to the Dean's salary and benefits be shifted to the SSSP budget. Student Equity would then hire an Administrative Secretary - Grants or a Secretary III that would be fully funded through the salary savings that occurred when the 25% and the 50% were moved to SSSP.
